Multitudes...multitudes...in the Valley of Decision..." Joel 3:14

"This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

February, 2006

Dear Praying Friends,

Thank you for praying for us, and for the work here in Argentina.Harris Photo The Lord is working in unusual ways. Our car has been to the ‘doctor’ (mechanic) several times including once for ´surgery´, and was parked for more than three weeks over Christmas and New Years with a burned out crankshaft bearing, since no garages could work on it then. What a bad time for our car to be “down”! But it did help the argentines to see more and more the need for them to ‘carry the load.’ They have seen that some of the older Sunday school students have not made the transition to move on up into the youth group, and on into the adults. Some of our youth came to us with their plan to have meetings for this special age group, for which they would be responsible, under our supervision, including getting the children to and from the meetings! Our car was “sick”, remember? l thought of how God turned Joseph’s brothers “bad” into God’s “good”! They did a great job, in spite of problems, it was a good meeting, and God will use it for map of Argentinafurther good. Remember, the plan, their plan! is to conserve fruit. These all need prayer...
Our Christmas program went really well with a lot of visitors. Out of about 120 present, over half were adults, many of whom have now come several times, and are getting to know us. The children did their parts very well and the message of salvation was clearly proclaimed once again. These all need prayer...
Our family camp will be the 2-3-4 of March. This is always an exciting time for our church and we are expecting the Lord to do great things. Our speaker, Gustavo Lopez, was a 15 or16 year old camper in one of the first camps I preached in Buenos Aires, many years ago. Today he and his lovely wife, Beth, are missionaries in southern Argentina. Our church has helped support them for many years and the people love them dearly. These also need our prayers...
One of the blessings of having been here for a long time, is that of seeing fruit that remains..., and reproduces! It is a major, uphill, battle, and we praise the Lord for each victory, whether large or small! Last week one of our men told in prayer meeting how that since we have been praying for a list of lost people in prayer meeting, the Lord has burdened his heart to witness more to the lost around him. There is a core group that is showing more maturity and the 2 preacher boys are developing into good preachers with helpful, submissive spirits. Pray especially for Charly and Jhony.
In May we are privileged to sponsor a regional congress of the International Testimony to An Infallible Word, formerly known as the World Congress of Fundamentalists. We have been praying and working on this for a couple of years, and now it is almost on top of us. We have rented a conference room for 250 people for 3 ˝ days. There will be speakers from Bolivia, Mexico, Spain, USA, and here in Argentina. We are expecting great blessings but we so need your prayers for this important meeting.
Would you please pray with us for these very important requests:
1) The work in Balcarce is really struggling, an increase in rent is imminent,
and we are faced with making some very important decisions there.
2) Our car has served very faithfully now for five years this month, but this last year two things have told us that it is time to update our car:
• It has been in and out of the garage many times, and needs to be replaced.
• The driver´s license people have told me that, due to my age, (65), I can no longer be issued the category they require me to have in order to drive our 9 passenger van, so that we need to change to a smaller car. My current license expires the end of May, so we hope to make the change by then. We hope to get close to half of what we need to get a good used car when we sell the van. It is up for sale now. Pray with us for a good, timely sale, to help make more funds available. Pray with us that God will supply what is needed for Harris Car replacement funds.

Serving Him with Gladness,

Don and Lois Harris
