Growing Kids God's Way

Biblical Ethics for Parenting/Teaching newborns Thru 12 Year Olds:

Expectant parents and teachers should also join us for this in-depth approach to the role of parenting/training, based upon a biblical philosophy of parenting according to God's principles, His character, and His help to capture the heart of your child.

MAJOR TOPICS TO BE COVERED

In the title Growing Kids God's Way, we place our emphasis on God's Way---meaning the way of the Lord. We serve an ethical God. Moral righteousness flows from His being. His ways are in accord with His unchangeable character. In short, God is absolutely perfect and His moral law is a reflection of His holy character (Psalm 19:7). More than that, He has shown man what is good and what is required of Him (Micah 6:8). We must learn the way of the Lord and instruct our growing children in it.

Growing Kids God's Way will not only speak about the good way of the Lord, but also offers practical steps to implement His moral precepts into the lives of our children. Although man looks at the outward appearance, God looks at the heart (Samuel 16:7). The principles of Growing Kids God's Way are not designed to work on a child's outward behavior, but rather on the inner attitudes of the heart from where the issues of life flow.

God's Word gives us His unchanging precepts, this course's aim is to show you the many shades of application. While the human application of God's principles may vary from child to child and family to family, even culture to culture, God's moral precepts do not (Hebrews 13:8). For example, Leviticus 19:32 speaks of our duty to "honor age". In the context of parenting and from a child's perspective, what does that look like in everyday life? What are the various ways in which a child can demonstrate the honor he should give to person's other than himself?

Growing Kids God's Way follows an inductive format to present the principles. That means that no lesson should stand by itself. Each lesson is a part of the whole. Such a format calls for a greater commitment from the student. This series offers no tricks, no gimmicks, and no quick-fixes to parenting problems. We do offer hope, encouragement and reassurance that raising good children is not a matter of chance. Our challenge to you is to participate with the grace of God to capture the heart of your child. We trust Growing Kids God's Way will be a guide and a tool to help you accomplish that task.
